The creators Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are bringing the curtain down on their comedy series about a tight-knit bunch of endearing rogues running riot in a rural Lancashire town. You might expect the last episode to be a greatest hits victory lap of alcohol, substances, and playful theft. However, the atmosphere turns much more somber as the character Vinnie, played by Gilgun and the crew barricade themselves in a pub with gangster Davey MacDonagh for a final 50th installment apparently inspired by Quentin Tarantino.
Dragons’ Den
8pm on BBC One
Ballet dancers leap into the den this week, as mothers Laura and Stacey present their line of adaptive dance attire – and send Peter Jones into a spin. Then, an ophthalmologist turned innovator has a clever gadget for lost tape ends.
All Creatures Great and Small
9pm on Channel 5
The animal-related escapades are all fine, but this excellent historical series earns its corn with tender character work. An especially moving installment intertwines the tales of a lame shire horse and a missing young cow into a deeper plotline centring on the character Tristan, whose behaviour prompts a brotherly confrontation.
The Drama The Hack
9pm, ITV1
The journey has been lengthy. But the second-to-last episode of this initially sluggish but eventually gripping phone-hacking drama sees David Tennant’s Nick uncovering information about the News of the World’s conduct that the other media outlets simply can’t ignore. Things are also looking up for the character Dave, who has a unexpected new supporter.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
9pm, BBC Three
Jazz hands at the ready: it’s time to stage Peter Pansy – The Rusical! That means the stress increases for the drag performers to sing, dance, act and finally impress as they prepare for the production. And what better guest judge than renowned West End star Mazz Murray, alongside the panel including Graham Norton, Michelle Visage, and RuPaul.
The Iris Affair
9pm on Sky Atlantic
Anyone afraid of insects will want to fast-forward as episode six begins, before something of a Mexican (or rather Sardinian) standoff occurs, when Cameron forces Iris to exchange her journal for the captured Joy – else she’ll be “shot repeatedly” from Meski’s menacing drone … How to get out of this one?
