Additionally, far-right social media accounts sought to manipulate the incident. A profile named “British Patriot”—with nearly 5,000 followers—shared an baseless allegation that a knife-wielding man had been yelling a religious phrase.

Ongoing Suspicion

Despite police clarified that the suspects were UK citizens, some figures continued to insinuate that details was being concealed. Ben Habib claimed it was “almost inconceivable” that the attack was not an act of terrorism, despite official statements to the opposite.
