Missile Defenses Activated Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space. In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region. IRGC Statement The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning. That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime. Additional Developments In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran. The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles". "UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued. The statement noted wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian. The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
