Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four major tournaments this year. Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her final two events in 2025 because of the illness that has affected her for the last week and a half. At 22 years old had planned to participate in events in Asia but chose to travel back to recover ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season. Her upcoming training are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together for the upcoming season. She underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion. She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round. She was also playing noticeably restricted in the deciding set in the match with Zhu owing to back discomfort that has been a concern at times this year. Those results followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 for the first time in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats. Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month. Raducanu won twenty-eight matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March. The British number one made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament then falling in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula. She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open. The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year. Raducanu told that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps. She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament. Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
